Video: Straatligkinders – Kaptein Span Die Seile

Most of you that know me knows that I am actually an Afrikaans klong from Bellville Rock City. Thus my passion for the Afrikaans rock revolution.

If you are Afrikaans, or live in South Africa chances are that you know who Kurt Darren is and about his “treffer” Kaptein Span Die Seile. I for one am not a big fan of Kurt Darren or his hit song Kaptein Span Die Seile.

Me not being a fan of old Kurt is still up there, but my hate for his song has just changed. I now introduce to you Straatligkinders, I wrote about their collaboration with Hip Hop artist Koldproduk here. Now the band from Potch, Straatligkinders, have gone and do it again with their remake of “Kaptein Span Die Seile”, allot more soothing to the ear as to how Kurt is doing it.

Enjoy, let me know what you think.

The popular Afrikaans rock band from Potch, Straatligkinders, have hooked up with Hip-Hop artist Koldproduk from Zimbabwe.

The unique mix of hip-hop culture and true South Afrikaans rock has produced one catchy tune that has everbody talking. The music video of Desvalido has not only been playlisted on the country’s top radio stations but is also playlisted on MK and MTV Base.

Straatligkinders has recently entertained Capetonians with shows in Worcester, Strand and Stellenbosch. As column writer for LitNet, Annie Klopper, says it perfectly the song “Desvalido” left her profound.

If you like the song show your support for the local boys by buying their CD “Sweef soos ‘n Vuishou” from Rhythm Online for only R85 or buy the “Desvalido” single for only R7. You can also check out Nokia music store and download the “Desvalido” video for only R10.
