Crowdsourcing for Evly-body

Evly.com the first crowdsourcing social network will be launching on Monday 22 November 2010. Evly.com is the brain child of CrowdTech, the company behind the highly popular T-Shirt site Springleap where users enter their designs to win R4,000.00 and the public gets to vote who the winner is and can then buy the winning design.

So what is crowdsourcing exactly? Crowdsourcing is the method of sourcing a solution from a crowd, community or social network as opposed to a single contractor with the understanding that the wisdom of the crowd is greater than the wisdom of the individual. This method not only gives rise to a variety of stimulating solutions but also powerful viral marketing potential.

Evly will provide users wanting to utilize crowdsourcing with a drag drop website builder interface to enable them to build their very own crowdsourcing site where members can interact and provide solutions. In addition, Evly will provide advanced crowdsourcing and social networking features which will enable website owners to easily manage and grow their own community.

Evly will operate on these 3 levels:

  1. Level 1: Starter - Individuals and companies can set up crowdsourcing websites and pose challenges for free. All evly websites will benefit from participating through evly.com’s ‘network of networks’ in order to utilize collective knowledge.
  2. Level 2: Customisation – Building on from Level 1, the first premium model of evly will give the website owner more control over the design and branding of their website. Website owners will be able to create a fully customized website in minutes.
  3. Level 3: Independence – Will afford website owners the option to remove themselves from the evly network. Website owners will also have 100% custom branding, as well as ownership of all member information.

Win with Springleap and the World Cup

South African startup Springleap, is giving users the chance to win two Springleap T-Shirts a month for the rest of the year by asking them to find four cups related to the World Cup semi final teams.

Here is what you’ll need to do to win

1. COLLECT
4 cups will be posted all over the internet (maybe there is one here somewhere). Each cup corresponds to a team participating in the semi-finals (Uruguay, Germany, Spain and Netherlands). Your mission is to find the cup that represents the team you think will win the World Cup 2010.

This is what a cup looks like (This is the what the Brazilian cup would look like if they weren’t taken out)

Where you’ll find the cups:
FredRoed
Ideate
iMod
iGeek

Springleap’s Facebook Fanpage
Springleap’s Twitter stream

2. PREDICT
Follow this link and predict who you think will get to the finals along with your score prediction.

When you have the cup that represents your prediction for the big win, send it to:
marketing@springleap.com along with your final score prediction.

3. POST
In support of your team, upload the cup to your Facebook profile to show your support (this isn’t part of the competition but we do think it would be awesome to show your team some love!)

4. WIN
The very best part! The first participant to submit the winning cup as well as the closest final score prediction will win 2 Springleap T-shirts a month for the rest of the year!!! The winner will be announced on the 12th of July 2010.

So what are you waiting for, start searching for those missing cups and get your hands on some pretty decent Springleap T-Shirt.

My Pigeon Race shirt has arrived

A while back I entered a competition to win a Pigeonrace 2009 T-shirt, and was lucky enough to be one of the winners.

The competition was ran by Springleap which gave away 50 free Pigeonrace 2009 T-shirts to the first 50 people that commented on the shirts design.

Rigeon Race 2009

Pretty cool tee, just sad that we didn’t get it earlier to wear it on the day of the race. Big thanks go out to the guys at Springleap and Winston and his owner for giving us these free tees. If you like the design be sure to check out Springleap’s site for more awsome designs like these.
