Now you can like the whole web
Gone are the days of not sharing stuff you like with your friends. Now you can Like just about anything on the web with the introduction of Facebook’s new Like button.
Facebook Founder & CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced some great changes to the social networking platform at this years f8 Developer Conference, one of this changes is the introduction of the new Facebook Like button.
Imagine you are online shopping or reading your favorite iGeek blog post and wanted to share this great item or article with your friends on Facebook without going through all the trouble of logging in to the Facebook site and pasting the link to friends there. Now publishers or any imaginable website on the Internet can just add the new Facebook Like button to their site and users can simply click it to share it with their friends.

You can check it out running here on iGeek, works pretty great. What it does is when a user clicks on the Like button a link status gets posted to their Facebook profile, something along the lines of “Gerhard likes WordPress Facebook Like Plugin on iGeek”. Both the article and site name gets links to the relevant article or item or whatever the user shared and the site URL also.
If you are interested in running this on your WordPress site check out the WordPress Facebook Like Post plugin I wrote.

This sure is a great feature and one that was needed a long time ago. I see the ladies gossiping even more now via Facebook.
