Western Cape braces for snow, wind, rain

Heavy rain, extreme cold tempratures and strong winds have been forecast for the Western Cape.

Sutherland, Ceres and almost all of the Boland mountains would get snow today or Wednesday, along with freezing cold conditions.

The weather is expected to lift by the weekend.

A Cold week ahead of us

Not sure how the weather was in Cape Town this weekend as I was away to Jefferys Bay, where the weather was fabulous, if I may add. According to KFM Cape Town also had some lovely weather this weekend, unfortunately all good things must come to an end.

For those of us already out of bed and at the office may have noticed a wet Cape Town this morning, this wil continue throughout the week with some heavy showers hitting us tommorrow. Tempratures throughout the week will be below 20°c so remember not to pack away that extra blanket yet.

If you love the cold weather then this is going to be your week, otherwise if you need your sun hang on its almost time for the warm to hit Cape Town again.

Here comes the rain

After a very pleasant past weekend the rain has decided to hit Cape Town again.

Cape Tonians can expect rain during the coarse of today and some more tomorrow, from Thursday we will have some cloudy to partly cloudy days lasting us through the weekend with tempratures averaging in the high 10′s and low 20′s.

Monday which is a puplic holiday we will see some more rain so be carefull when you are on the road heading back if you went away for the long weekend.

Weekend weather left Cape Town badly bruised

The Cape of Storms made its name justice this weekend.

Heavy rains since Saturday afternoon caused havoc in various regions of the city. In Caps Bay six motor vehicles was stuck in Victoria Street due to flooding. The Vygieskraal-chanel also flooded its banks in the Athlone area yesterday afternoon, causing people great damage in the nearby Vygieskraal informal setlement.

Various roads are still closed this morning and motorists are adviced to take caution when traveling.
