It was evident that this was to happen in the future, with Twitter clients like Seesmic already offering inline media, Twitter is slowly losing those valuable pageviews to innovative Twitter clients. It seems Twitter is starting to realise this and some users have reported seeing a new setting called “Tweet Media” in their profiles.

Twitter Inline Media Settings

Tweet Media which some users had access to, seems Twitter removed it now again, gives users the option to view inline photos and videos in their Twitter streams. It came with the following description in the profile.

“By default, you’ll only see images and videos shared by people you’re following, and reveal those by people you’re not. Check this box to see media from everyone on Twitter.”

Twitter confirmed to Mashable that they are indeed testing out inline media by issuing the following statement.

“We’re constantly exploring features and settings. What you saw was a small test of a potential consumption setting for inline media. We show inline media on our own iPhone and Android apps.”
