Angry Birds Rio Coming To Android Market

Angry Birds Rio Android MarketAngry Birds has to be one of the most popular mobile games at the moment with all of its releases topping the Apple iTunes App Store charts as soon as they are released.

Last week Rio the makers of Angry Birds released the latest installment of their popular mobile game, Angry Birds Rio.

Angry Birds Rio adds a whole new twist to the game, and they also upped the graphics a bit. With Angry Birds Rio, there are no more pigs, instead all the birds have been kidnapped and shipped to Rio headquarters and you have to free them. The new Angry Birds Rio takes place inside a warehouse and there are also new obstacles like hanging chains with fruit that can obstruct your shooting.

Up until now the only way Android users could get access to Angry Birds Rio was through the new Amazon App Store, but unfortunately this is only open to US users. Good news for international Android users is that Rio will be releasing Angry Birds Rio on the Android Market sometime this week. The game will be free on the Android Market and will be supported by Ads.

Invictus movie trailer

Invictus is a feature film based on Nelson Mandela’s life during the 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa. Directed by Clint Eastwood, the film stars Morgan Freeman as the then South African President Mandela, and Matt Damon as Francois Pienaar, the South African team captain. The story is based on the John Carlin book Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game That Changed a Nation.

Invictus is a look at Nelson Mandela after the end of apartheid. The story is about Mandela’s release from prison, his election as President of South Africa and his attempts to use the 1995 Rugby World Cup as a vehicle to bring his people together. Led by their captain Francois Pienaar, the South African team wins the tournament, upsetting the favorites New Zealand 15–12 in the final.

Just too bad that the accents doesn’t really suite the characters for the film.

Rastafarian screws up National Anthem at rugby game

For those of you that watched the rugby match between France and the South African Springboks, would remember the rastafarian guy that sang the South African National Anthem. Ras Dumisani the guy that sang the National Anthem at Fridays clash between the Springboks and France really screwed it up.

If you did not catch it here it is.

Apparently Ras Dumisani was chosen by the South African Embassy in France to sing the South African National Anthem “NKosi Sikelel’ iAfrica”. All I can say is that for one that Ras Dumisani is not proudly South African and he really did screw up the song big time. For an experienced Springbok side the way the National Anthem was sung doesn’t portray it well.

I really hope that in the future these kind of humility can be avoided, as I feel very humiliated to be South African by the way this guy sang our National Anthem.

Ras Dumisani apparently apologised blaming his bad performance on a old microphone and monitor.

Schalk Burger’s big hit on Fourie du Preez

If you checked out the Wester Province vs Blue Bulls game this weekend at Newland there is one moment that would jump to mind and it is that of the tackle WP Flanker Schalk Burger made on Blue Bulls player Fourie Du Preez.

WP lost by only one point after replacement player Nakelavuki made a high tackle and cost the Wester Province a penalty in the last 5 minutes of the game. Im sure Western Province coach Alistar Coetzee regrets putting Nakelavuki on.

For your enjoyment, the great tackle performed by Schalk Burger on Fourie Du Preez.

Got to love the wink at the end. Well done WP, I am proud to be a supporter.
