Snow on Table Mountain and other mountains near Cape Town

Weather has been really chilly the past couple of days here in Cape Town and this morning while driving to work I recorded a mere 5 degrees from the car thermometer.

Local weather forecasters yesterday predicted snow on Table Mountain and when I spotted these pics I just had to share it. The pics clearly shows some snow on Table Mountain, although its not much and you can’t see it from the bottom it sure as hell is there and I can feel it in the temperature.

There are also reports that the mountains near Paarl and Wellington is covered in snow, if you got some pics why not send them in and I will gladly post them.

Snow Watch: Ceres

So by now a whole lot of Capetonians made plans to head out to Ceres this weekend to go watch and play around in some snow on Matroosberg.

If you are interested in seeing what it currently looks like up there, the people of Matroosberg nature reserve has set up webcams, you can have a look at the images here. It contains images of photos taken by the webcams on Matroosberg. Images are updated frequently so check back often to see if its worth going up to Matroosberg in Ceres.

A friendly reminder to people heading to Matroosberg, Ceres please keep it calm on the roads. Do not drive fast as roads are slippery and be aware of pedestrians alongside the roads. There will be long queues up to the mountain as allot of Capetonians are heading up to go have some fun in the snow.

See you there, and watch out for the snowballs.

A Cold week ahead of us

Not sure how the weather was in Cape Town this weekend as I was away to Jefferys Bay, where the weather was fabulous, if I may add. According to KFM Cape Town also had some lovely weather this weekend, unfortunately all good things must come to an end.

For those of us already out of bed and at the office may have noticed a wet Cape Town this morning, this wil continue throughout the week with some heavy showers hitting us tommorrow. Tempratures throughout the week will be below 20°c so remember not to pack away that extra blanket yet.

If you love the cold weather then this is going to be your week, otherwise if you need your sun hang on its almost time for the warm to hit Cape Town again.

What the weather holds in store for this week

After a very nice and warm weekend in Cape Town, looks like today and tomorrow wil keep up with the weekend.

By tomorrow evening Cape Tonians should prepare themselfs for very cold conditions, gale force winds and rough seas with swells in excess of 5m. Good news is that there is no rain forecasted for the whole week, but we never know what can happen when the winds hit us.

So get out those winter warmers and extra blankets as it seems we have a cold week lying ahead of us.

Weather for the week

Hey all you Capetonians, hope you all had a wonderfull weekend with the great weather we had.

Some bad/good news depending on if you are a winter or summer person. This week will be a bit colder than last week with some rain forecasted for today and the weekend.

Tempratures will reach a high of 22 degrees Wednesday and a low of 16 degrees during the weekend with some rain on Friday and Saturday.
