Does this require a specific bulk sms service, or do you use the list of subscribers and manually login to the service of your choice?
Hi Libby
You must sign up here http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-4159320-10790930 to be able to send sms messages to your subscribers
Hi love this plugin would like to remove the widget and add a phone number section to user profiles instead.
What do you think..?
Is this a simple modification..?
Thanks
Hi Chocolate city
Glad you like it, I am busy with some extra features, will look into this feature for you. I am also adding a contacts import and export functionality as well as sending messages on new posts.
@Chocolate city
I added the feature for you. Will release it with the other new features sometime in next week
Very cool Gerhard
Keep up the great work
Any idea if there’s any way to send numbers to the US without having to pay for the US shortcode? It’s like 900$ on a monthly basis!
Thanks so much & let me know please
nice job on everything!!
Hi Nathan, you don’t need a shortcode to send messages to US numbers, simply sign up here http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-4159320-10790930 and buy credits for cheap to send. If you are only looking at sending text messages to US numbers credits will cost you even cheaper if you specify that you only want to send to one country.
Oh wow! thanks so much for the information and the quick reply!!!
Once again, wonderful application! It’ll do me wonders!
Have a good one
Hi Nathan!
I LOVE this widget and I am trying to implement it on my blog which targets Latinamerican women. I have done the setup with Bulk SMS, translated the bits that need to be in Spanish and am ready to go but I have an issue with the number of digits it accepts (11)
In many countries cell phones have more than 11 digits when you include the international code. Mexico is an example (13). Is there a way to twist the code so that the widget accepts mobile numbers regardless of how many digits are entered?
I’ve tried but I am not good at all at coding
Thanks and keep up the wonderful work!
Apologies, I meant to address the commentn to Gerhard
No problem Blanca, If you will please send an email to me at info@igeek.co.za requesting this and I will reply with a workthrough. BTW I am planning a country dropdown for the next release.
awesome plugin, is there a way or plans to add names to the numbers?
I can maybe look at it, for what do you want to use the names if I may ask? Personalized messages?
Ooh, personalisation would be soo cool!

Make it so Gerhard
Hi again Gerhard
I sent you an email with my request as you suggested and just want to check if you got it.
Thanks a lot!
Hi Blanca, yes I am just testing the new features, should be released beginning of next week.
We activated your widget on our U.S.-based website and it requires people to subscribe with a nine-digit phone number. However, U.S. phone numbers have TEN digits. So, how do we make your plugin function for U.S. subscribers? Thanks.
Hi Judah, I will be releasing a new version that accommodates for the longer numbers during the next couple of days.
Hello,
I want to know, If I can configure this widget, that only I can make a post which will be sent to all subscribers.
I need it for an Eventreminder on my page. Is this possible?
Thanks for your help.
Heiner
For those who want more space for phone numbers, there is now a new version out which conforms to international dialing plan standards of 15 digits max including country code.
Hey Gerhard. This is nice looking plugin, but I found a few issues in 1.1.3
In options.php – you use which is considered bad practice and actually causes the form to blow up on my server.
Also, in subscribers.php – line 71 throws a warning about ID being an undefined index. Changing it to isset($get['id']) fixes that problem.
Looking forward to future developments.
My comment above got it’s code stripped, of course.
I was saying that using < ? = is bad practice. On my testing server, none of the code using that worked. Not the admin side, nor the change country in the widget. I had to replace it all with < ? php echo
Hope this comment is readable.
Hey Jeff, yes the plugin requires short open tags to be on. In the next version I will change this to accommodate the people that does not have this feature turned on on their servers. Thanks for the feedback.
Error sending SMS! (ERR: 114, Cannot route message)
What am I doing wrong?!
Hi David, this is due to one of the numbers not being correct. I am busy investigating and adding a fix. Thanks for the feedback.
Hi Gerhard

Hi, great plugin! Would it be possible to send sms with international characters?
Hi Carl, could you please elaborate a bit more? Do you want to send sms messages with another alphabet?
Hi, i want to send sms with the letters Åå Ää Öö. I sent the word ‘säger’ and it was showed as ‘s€ger’ on the mobile (two different mobiles received the sms).
Hi, Does this work with UK mobile numbers?
Is it possible to add a widget to a sidebar and allow users to subscribe per post and send SMS messages to individual post subscribers?
I.e Bob subscribes to POST 1 and Mary subscribes to POST 2. I decide I want to update POST 2 subscribers with a SMS message about a related post so I only text them.
Possible?
Luke UK numbers work fine, as for the post subscriber there isn’t currently functionality for that but I may consider it for the next release scheduled within the next two weeks.
Gerhard,
Thanks for the swifts response. Cool. I’ll keep my eyes open for it. A big thank you in advance if you do add it.
Hi,
This is most amazing plugin i ever seen
Many Thanks
Yes, please consider it for the next release . which is sooner then later i hope
Gerhard,
Did you manage to add the ability to subscribe per post and send SMS messages to individual post subscribers?
I.e Bob subscribes to POST 1 and Mary subscribes to POST 2. I decide I want to update POST 2 subscribers with a SMS message about a related post so I only text them.
Hy!

hi i got wordpress 3.0.4
when i want to use your wiget i get the error
Fatal error: Call to undefined function curl_init() in /home/…./wp-content/plugins/clickatell-sms-subscription-manager/functions.php on line 6
please help!
what schould i do ?
Hi agricula, you need to have curl enabled on your web host.
Hello, I tried contacting through the contact form, but it’s coming up as [contact-form 1 "Contact form 1"] rather than the actual form for me.
I have a question concerning an option I need available on my
Wordpress site and I’d like clarification – and if possible, maybe
even a point in the right direction if it’s not a service you can
provide.
I have a list of subscribers around the world, with their zip code,
and either a phone number (for a text message update), or an email
address (for an email update).
What I need, is when I publish an article on my website (which always
has a zip code attached) – I need an app or script or program/plugin
that looks at that zip code, and automatically matches that up with
subscribers in the area and updates them through their preferred
update method, text or email.
Is this something that is available somewhere? Or if you think it’d
require custom work, can your company accomplish this, or do you know
of another? Also if required, what type of development time I might be
looking at as far as development work goes so I can get an idea of a quoted price? If this is something that you’re able to do and you’re available for hire, I’d love to know.
Thanks so much,
Thomas
It would be great if the plugin has the ability to SMS notify post author (multiuser/multisite setup) when there is new comment.
Is that hard to implement such thing?
Getting this error when I try to send them out:
Error in SMS authorization! (ERR: 001, Authentication failed)
Hi Joshua, you need to buy SMS credits to send out messages, you can buy them here http://www.dpbolvw.net/click-4159320-10814404
hi, i dont see on your website where i can sign up for the sms. i see email signup to your newsletter but no example in your sidebar. could you please post some examples of websites using your plugin so i can see it?
Hi Joan for an example check out http://www.webaddict.co.za
is there somehow i can see the back end how it works with wordpress? is there a demo or i just have to try it on my own blog?
http://www.bulksms.com/int/w/pricing.htm
might you consider to use this service also because on clicktel 200 sms costs 8.80 euro and on bulk sms 200 sms costs 7.50 euro.
hi i signed up for your plugin and clicktel service however with this service you cant really send to usa unless you pay a monthly subscription. so if i want to use another service to send to usa numbers…how can i do that with your plugin? can i manually pick out the usa numbers and send them through another service? would you consider to make your service available with other companies like the bluksms.com above or http://www.bulksms.com.au/smsintegration.htm they also have an api. it would be great if you could have a drop down list that would allow you to select different providers. bulksms.com.au also have an affiliate program.
Hi Joan, if you sign up for an international account you can buy credit to send sms messages with. There are currently no plans to integrate with other bulk sms providers seeing as everybody works in a different way. I may consider adding other bulk sms providers later on or perhaps just convert this plugin to another one that supports other providers.
I haven’t signed for the gateway yet, but I like the potential for this plugin. Two questions:
1 – Is it possible to edit the title of the widget? I’d like to either drop it so my Theme doesn’t add a widget header to the sidebar, or change the language of the title, e.g. “Mobile Alerts” instead of “Receive Updates via SMS”. For the life of me, I can’t find the widget title in the code.
2 – Is it possible (or coming in a future edition) to set a Category default that would automatically send SMS? I’ve seen it on other sites but not for WordPress.
Thanks!
Hi Ripley, yes you can change the title, its under the options menu. As for the SMS in specific categories, I will look into adding it into the next release.
i hope you will consider to make this plugin work with other systems as they offer little bit better rates, especially for global coverage (for clicktell you have to do a flat rate 24.00 per month for send usa–if you have only one usa subscriber that means that you have to pay 24.00 for their 1 sms).
i have signed up now for clicktell and want to try it on my website, but i dont see how to get started? is there a tutorial somewhere i can read?
every time that i activate the plugin, it results to white pages in my website.
but when i use a local server in my computer everything seems to be fine.
what do you think is the possible solution?
thanks
Hi, I installed your plugin and registered with clickatell. When I send a message nothing happens but when I use an outside script the service runs smoothly. And where is the link to download the latest release…Thanx
Hi, just ignore my last comment, I managed to make it work
But my question is since I am sending text in Arabic how can I send massages longer than 70 characters!
Hi Sam, I have not investigated other languages yet. I am at the moment busy with a whole rewrite of the plugin and will consider looking into it.
Thanx Gerhard… It’s really a great plugin
