Apple has unveiled its new line of MacBook Pros with updated processors, graphics, new Tunderbolt I/O port and HD Facetime cameras.

The biggest change to the new line of MacBook Pros has to be the new Thunderbolt technology that Intel developed in conjunction with Apple, that lets you connect peripherals and high resolution displays to a single port capable of connection speeds of 10Gbps.

Apart from the new Thunderbolt I/O port, Apple has also included new HD capable Facetime cameras that offers triple the resolution of previous MacBook Pro cameras.

Apple also made a switch from Nvidia to ATI Radeon graphics for its 15″ and 17″ MacBook Pro models, along with a bump up in the CPU department adding quadcore capabilities through the new i7 CPU’s.

Previously allot of online publications have speculated that iOS 4.3 would be available from 14 February, but the day has come and gone and still no iOS 4.3.

New evidence has surfaces though and it comes paired with the announced from Apple yesterday that they are introducing a in app recurring subscription based service via the App Store for publications like The Daily.

Opening up The Daily app on my iPad reveals that the free subscription has been extended to 2 March 2011, meaning that they anticipate the release of iOS 4.3 just before that date, like say the end of February.

What can you expect with iOS 4.3?

- New Multi-touch gestures for the iPad
- Airplay for third party apps and web apps
- A new FaceTime icon
- Full screen iAds
- Configurable side switch for the iPad

- New keyboard layout

The most anticipated feature must be the Personal Hotspot which will allow you to turn your iPhone into a personal hotspot to share your internet connection with other devices through WiFi.

Core Group, the official Apple distributor in South Africa has just announced that from tomorrow the 28th of January 2011, the iPad will be available in South Africa.

For long the only way South Africans could get their hands on the hottest gadget of 2010 was to  either import it or buy it from local importers that charged close to R10,000.00 for the device, but from tomorrow South Africans will be able to get the iPad locally without it costing them an arm and a leg.

Core Group will be introducing the Apple iPad priced very aggressively in South Africa starting at R4,399.00 allot cheaper than the currently cheapest price of R6,444.00 for an import model from Take 2.

Prices come as a real shock seeing as Apple products in South African normally tend to be way more expensive, but the low pricing may be a sign that the iPad 2 may be here sooner than we think, perhaps in March or April.

Compared to the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the Apple iPad is priced way more aggressively and could mean trouble for Samsung seeing as you can get a 64GB WiFi + 3G iPad for less than the 16GB Samsung Galaxy Tab priced at R7,999.00.
