Summary Review:
The Dilemma is an awkward comedy with moral and ethical undertones about what to do with secrets you were never meant to know.
Synopsis:
Ronny (Vince Vaughan) is a fun-loving guy who can never take anything seriously. That is until he sees his best friend’s wife (Winona Ryder) kissing another man.
Now Ronny is faced with the dilemma of either keeping the secret and letting the affair continue that will destroy his friend, Nick (Kevin James) or telling Nick and being the bearer of bad news.
The Dilemma has a very interesting premise, but the film makers don’t seem to know how to conclude this story.
The unusual pairing of comedians Vaughan and James with serious actresses like Ryder and Jennifer Connelly adds to the movie’s off-kilter tone and awkward pace.
It seems the makers of The Dilemma couldn’t bring their ideas to life as they’d imagined and there will be many moments in the cinema where you’ll sit there feeling awkward and wondering what’s just funny and what’s sarcastic.
Director: Ron Howard Screenplay: Allan Loeb Cast: Vince Vaughan, Kevin James, Winona Ryder, Jennifer Connelly Time: 118min Age Restriction: 13SLV

Okay so I am not a hardcore gamer, I tend to think of myself as a more casual gamer, but when it comes to having a full weekend with all your best mates in one room jamming away at a First Person Shooter, or racing for pole position or just pretending you are the hottest band on earth with Guitar Hero, then things do tend to get more serious.
I remember when we where still studying we used to every now and then on a Friday just decide this will be a gaming weekend, then we get as much gamers as we can in the hostel and cram them into one tiny room for a weekend full of beer and gaming. Things do get quite interesting when you start to play drinking games in conjuction with the normal gaming, giving the rookies some form of advantage.
Well the folks over at Chaos Computers, I guess most of you know who they are, have put together a great competition for gamers. How does 5 days of gaming sound with 4 of your best mates? Awesome doesn’t it? Well they are doing just that, giving you and 4 of your mates the change to win a 5 day gaming marathon at their cost.
If that does not sound awesome enough, they will be shipping you of to a nice villa in Camps Bay for this 5 days of gaming madness and give you a supply of unlimited junk food, Red Bull, Games and even throw in some gadgets to surround you with during your stay.
So what are you waiting for? Go enter on the Chaos Computers Facebook Page or on their website.
The video for Lady Gaga’s new hit song Born This Way premiered exclusively on US video site Vevo yesterday.
The video for Born This Way, which can be seen above, premiered exclusively on US video site Vevo, the video has also been uploaded to YouTube and already had a staggering 600 000 views in less than 24 hours.
Lady Gaga with her new single Born This Way has already been crowned the queen of iTunes with it becoming the fastest selling single on the Apple iTunes Store selling more than 1 million copies of the song in just 5 days. Its just YouTube this queen of pop still has to conquer as she currently only has the number two spot for most viewed video just behind Justin Bieber.
Who knows Lady Gaga just might have what it takes with the new Born This Way video to take the number one spot on YouTube.
Summary Review:
How Do You Know is an average romantic comedy about a love triangle between characters portrayed by good comedians in their usual roles.
Synopsis:
I had tonsillitis this weekend and so didn’t feel like watching James Franco saw off his own arm with a blunt knife in an inspiring survival story like 127 Days. That does, however, look like the most interesting new film at the cinemas.
Saw 3D needs no introduction and I believe the only way it differs from its two predecessors is that it is in 3D.
Which brings us to the third and final option, How Do You Know. I didn’t have high hopes for this movie either, but it was at least easy to watch.
Reese Witherspoon plays Lisa, a professional softball player who gets cut from the national USA team. While trying to recover from her disappointment and find a new purpose for her life, she gets embroiled in a love triangle with a professional baseballer (Owen Wilson) and a business executive (Paul Rudd) who is under federal investigation for dodgy business dealings.
How Do You Know is nothing more than a safe romantic comedy, perfect as a belated Valentine’s date.
It is not up to the usual standards of award-winning writer and director James L. Brooks, but How Do You Know will cause couples to take a deeper look at their relationships.
Director: James L. Brooks Screenplay: James L. Brooks Cast: Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, Paul Rudd, Jack Nicholson

Group Buying is the latest craze to hit the Internet, the idea is simple and is in fact in use on a daily basis by large brick and mortar shops around the world and only in the last few months it is catching on online with the introduction of sites like Groupon.
Groupon recently turned down a deal of $6 billion from Google just showing how much the concept is worth, shortly after that Groupon acquired a stake in local group buying site Twangoo with aims on bringing the official Groupon brand to South Africa.
So how is the local group buying industry doing and are there place for more sites like these? Since the acquisition of Twangoo by Groupon, local group buying sites have been popping up like crazy. A quick count revealed more than eight group buying sites operating in South Africa and that is just the few I know about.

These are just a few local group buying sites that I know about that claims to offer up to 90% discount on various products or services like Electronics, Wine, Household Appliances to the normal group buying offers such as Spa Treatments and Dinners. In addition to these sites there are literally new group buying sites popping up each week making this a very competitive market.
But all has not been sunshine and roses in the local group buying market, a while back WiCount made a slip up and accidentally released the names and email address of their customers through a flaw in their system, this also uncovered that WiCount was buying vouchers themselves to spur on sales, but they soon responded saying that this is how they treat deposits of people not ordering through the website.
Another alleged discrepancy was picked up yesterday by Blogger Chris Mills from iMod claiming that group buying site Twangoo is showing discount on their products but in fact a simple google search revealed that the product in question was also being sold by original company at the exact same price. Twangoo has since responded that they have contacted the company and will meet with them and provide feedback but they can assure us that it is not their intention to hoodwink their members or artificially inflate prices to create the illusion of a larger discount.
I guess in a competitive market such as Group Buying we are sure to see the odd chancer here and there trying to make a quick buck, just be cautious, its always good to do some investigation before buying online.
I have checked out these site and most of the deals I had a look at was ligit, what is your favorite group buying site in South Africa?
Microsoft has one of the hotest gadgets available on the market today, the Xbox 360 Kinect, allowing you to use your body as the controller, but it seems they are not willing to let it at that.
Microsoft recently launched Windows Phone 7, a new mobile operating system that are set to compete head on with the likes of Android and Apple iOS, but since its release uptake of Windows Phone 7 has been very stale.
Microsoft is however hard at work trying to integrate its Windows Phone 7 operating system into as many other systems as possible, and one such integration it that of their very own Xbox 360 Kinect. You are probably asking now, how on earth will you integrate Windows Phone 7 with Xbox Kinect? Have a look at this video.
So what do you think? Will this change your mind on Windows Phone 7? Would be cool to add to the Kinect gaming experience by controlling additional features via your Windows Phone 7 device.
Summary Review:
Morning Glory is a funny formula comedy with the usual good performances from 3 skilled actors.
Synopsis:
Becky (Rachel McAdams) is a sweetly ambitious young TV producer who gets retrenched when the local station she works for starts making cut-backs.
Facing huge pressure from her mum to give up on her embarrassing dream of becoming a star producer, Becky applies for a position at a failing network breakfast show.
She now has the challenge of reviving this show while facing opposition from its two grumpy presenters (Diane Keaton and Harrison Ford).
Rachel McAdams is an actress everyone expected to see great things from after her performance in The Notebook. Since then, however, she has played very similar characters in a variety of films and Morning Glory is another un-challenging movie.
While a funny and easy-going film, Morning Glory is nothing exceptional.
Director: Roger Michell Screenplay: Aline Brosh McKenna Cast: Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton, Patrick Wilson Time: 107min Age Restriction: 13L

Wired has reported that gaming company Activision will be closing down their music game division that was responsible for the Guitar Hero games.
Activision said that the decline of the genre, plus the high cost of licensing music and producing the games, led it to close the business.
“There was nothing that Activision or anybody could have done to save Guitar Hero,” said Jesse Divnich, vice president of analyst services for Electronic Entertainment Design and Research, in an interview with Wired.com. Divnich said that Activision realizes the “opportunity cost” of continuing to make Hero games when it could instead be putting those resources towards more profitable games.
I for one was a big fan of Guitar Hero, almost having all the title so this comes as really sad news to me. Luckily we still have Rock Band to help us live the dream of being a rock star, also with Kinect now being popular I think we will see more music games heading over to the motion controller platform, although it won’t beat jamming away on a mini guitar or drum kit.
