CapeTownVibe.com

Posted on September 14, 2009 in Cape Town, Internet, Work by Gerhard | 4 Comments »

A few month back I decided it’s time to go more global with domain names and started looking for a suitable .com domain name.

I went on search without knowing what I wanted to do with the domain name, but as soon as I discovered the domain CapeTownVibe.com I just knew I had to register it. I registered through WebAfrica my ISP of choice and was lucky enough to discover they are running a special for only R90 for a dot com domain. Registration was quick and painless, five minutes after requesting the registration, the domain was registered and active.

I’m still contemplating what I want to do with the domain, I was thinking something along the lines of a guide to Cape Town with whats happening in and around the city aswell as maybe some accommodation info. What do you guys think?

    What a cool domain name!

My suggestion, especially with our famous 2010 world cup in mind..

    Category for some romantic restaurants
    Romantic lodges / b&b for 2
    Noisiest night clubs (lol)
Directions to the soccer parks / stadiums
Cape Town Etiquette ( i know they drive slower than the guys up here in Gauteng so don’t hoot!)
Places to stay away from and why
Contact the tourism committee / board in Cape Town and work in collaboration with them
Directions to historical buildings … lots of that in CT
Unknown places that you personally like . There are some people that doesn’t like the mainstream tourism places.
The Capetonian lifestyle – what makes CT different from the rest of SA? You can also draw a comparison between Jhb and CT … (ye I know, not too crazy about Jozi myself)

I’ll keep an eye on the growth of your site.. Good luck!

    Hi Jakes

The site has never existed, I only obtained the domain. I am still looking at ideas for the domain.
