Dont know if this is staged or not, but damn if this is how people react to not being able to play WOW (World Of Warcraft) I’m glad I’m not into it. Looks more like the guy has swine flu to me.

Google launches Adsense for Mobile Applications

Any person out there can se how cellphones are revolusionizing our daily lives. Take the average person out there, well I can almost say take any person out there, they own a cellphone with access to the internet and it doensn’t matter where they are they will always reach for their cellphone to seek information. As a result mobile applications have become more and more popular helping people find all sorts of things from music, chatting to checking bank balances.

Google saw the growth of the mobile application industry and announced their beta version of Adsense for Mobile Applications. After all advertisers are always looking for ways to reach potential customers when they are engadged with mobile applications.

Google AdSense for Mobile Applications allows developers to earn revenue by displaying text and image ads in their iPhone and Android applications. For Google’s beta launch, they’ve created a site where developers can learn more about the AdSense for Mobile Applications program, see answers to frequently asked questions and sign up to participate in our beta. Advertisers can also learn about the benefits of advertising in mobile applications.

Seacom launch delayed

Seacom the new undersea cable bringing afordable bandwidth to Africa’s launch has been delayed.

Acording to the Seacom blog the reason for the delay is due to cautionary for pirates as the cable runs through pirate infested waters where there is still some work due to be done before the cable goes live.

The launch date has been pushed from 27 June 2009 to 23 July 2009, for more info visit the Seacom Blog.

Heavy weather warning

City disaster management is on high alert following warnings of very cold conditions, snow, rough seas, gale-force winds and heavy rains.

Showers in excess of 50mm is expected to fall across the province today and tomorrow. This rain will be acompanied by gale force winds of up to 85km/h, snow on mountains and waves higher than 7 meters.

People are urged to stay away from areas such as promonade, Cape Point, Atlantic Seaboard, Strand, Gordens Bay and the False Bay coastline.

People living across or near beaches need to be prepared for storm surge impacts.

Looks like we have a hell of a week ahead of us to keep safe people.

Gray week lying ahead

It looks like a gray week is lying ahead for us Capetonians with 2 cold fronts on their way. Snowfalls are expected on the western high ground on Tuesday night, persisting on Wednesday. Also very rough seas with a total wave height in excess of 6-7m is expected with rain througout the week. So better get those winter warmers out for this week.

The Stig took of his helmet last night in the first episode of Season 13 of Top Gear. For so long viewers was intrigued by the true identity of the test driver for the show. Question now is if this is another publicity stunt or is the person revealed realy the real stig?
